Preparation (8–10 servings)
In a saucepan, combine 2.5 L of water, 150 g quartered tomatoes and 90 g quartered onions and bring to a boil. Simmer for 5 minutes. Pour in Mama Sita’s Tamarind Seasoning (Sinigang Sa Sampalok) Mix. Increase the heat and bring to a rolling boil. Add 400 g sliced radish, 200 g of cut long green beans, 4 long green peppers and fish sauce to taste. Cover and simmer for 5 minutes. Add 1 kg prawns. Simmer for 3 to 5 minutes or until the prawns are cooked. Turn off the heat and then add 200 g of leafy vegetables. Cover to steam cook. Serve hot.
